Deepen Your Therapeutic Work
Using an Existential-Humanistic Perspective

Saturday, May 22nd (9 am - 5 pm)

Portland, OR - Approved for 6 CEs

This workshop focuses on working powerfully with presence and
resistancewithin the intra-psychic and interpersonal fields. It is
designed to deepen your therapeutic work using qualities, attitudes,
and skills from the Existential-Humanistic perspective.

Through lecture, dialogue, demonstration, and experiential exercises
we will explore:

  1. How clients resist deepening into subjectivity and making
    authentic connections

  2. Why emphasizing process over content evokes what is not
    yet fully conscious

  3. The transformative potential of being fully engaged in the
    present moment

Regardless of your therapeutic orientation or skill level, this workshop

will help you:

  1. Facilitate your client's inward searching process of self-discovery

  2. Explore the authentic relationship between you and your client

  3. Guide your client's search for meaning

The Body & Emotions:
Explore the Mind/Body Connection
in the Therapeutic Session

A weekend workshop with Rob Bauer at Breitenbush Hot Springs

How do we help our client get out of their head and into their heart?

In this workshop you will be introduced to gentle, non-invasive touch as
a way to release somatic holding patterns and uncover suppressed emotions.
And, you will learn intentional dialogue as a means of helping the client
to verbalize and integrate these feelings.

Using techniques of the Rubenfeld Synergy Method®, discover the power
of listening touch, develop a deeper understanding of how we lock up our
feelings with body tension, and learn how touch with dialogue can open
gateways for contacting and expressing emotions.

Experiment with the potency of words and discover what happens
when a client starts to release holding patterns of their body while being
empowered with words.
Through hands-on practice, you will have the
opportunity to understand the client’s experience first-hand and
learn new therapeutic skills.
